Protect Your Ears at the Call Center

Stumble it!

When you’re working at a call center, you have to take steps to protect your ears. You wear a headset for hours, days, and even years. So make sure to take some simple steps to protect yourself.

First, make sure to keep your headset clean. Ear wax and germs can build up on the headset, so you need to clean it regularly. Use some simple disinfectant wipes to wipe down your headset at least once a week, preferably every day. This will remove the wax build up and protect your ears for germs.

It’s also important to make sure you did not turn your headset up too loud. If other people around you can hear the person on your headset through your earpiece, it’s most likely too loud. Turn it down. A good rule of thumb is not to exceed 75% of the possible volume on your headset. If you do this, you will likely keep the volume safe.
