Call Center Chairs

Stumble it!

While taking calls for 8 hours a day in a call center doesn’t seem very physically intense, sitting for 8+ hours per day is.  If you currently work in a call center please leave some feedback on the quality of your chairs, we’re looking to put together some info about call center seats.

Call center chairs should be part of the focus for any call center looking to decrease back problems and health insurance costs among the call center employees.  Another great reason for upgrading your call centers chairs is that employees like new things, especially things that make them feel better.  If a new chair costs you $150, it is worth at least that much in employee gratitude.  Keeping your employees happy is a priority right?

Which chairs should you buy?  Be practical first of all, you don’t need to spend $750 per chair on an Aeron for each seat in your call center.  Your call center office chairs should be decently priced, but most importantly, they should be comfortable for extended periods of time.

Here is how I would recommend buying office chairs for your call center.  First contact a few companies such as Office Depot and buy 2-5 chairs that are in your price range.  Have 5 different employees use the chairs, one chair each day.  Get them to write a few notes about the chair before lunch then before they leave for the day.  Compare notes at the end of the test and see which chair scored the highest in the test.  Also be sure to ask your employees that conducted the test if they have a favorite.  Take that info and stock your call center with new chairs!
